Meet Gabs, yachtswoman, adventure racer, private chef and wild swimmer

February 26, 2015 Off By Gabs

GabsGabs is really Gabrielle, but as she is moves at a million miles an hour she thinks it’s poor use of time to have such a long name.

Gabs spent her early days shooting with her dad and learning outdoor skills. She spent a decade working overseas as a Chef in the Caribbean on yachts in her 20s and in her spare time racing smaller faster boats out there. (J24s and J27s if that means anything to you.)

Gabs joined the Pro Adventure team in January 2015, part time as she also runs her own show, taking folk on wild swims around North Wales.

Swimming is her main activity, with a few races planned for this year. But Gabs also has a bash at other fun and games. She has competed in a few of the Open 5 adventure races. She runs with her dog around the hills, but has the most fun out exploring on her mountain bike, with the dog too. Gabs also plays at yoga, bouldering and pole dancing. She’s also recently bought a slack line.

Gabs is a PADI Dive Master, BSAC snorkelling instructor, Swift Water Rescue Technician, Trainee Mountain Leader, Beach Life Guard, RYA Day Skipper, Swimming Coach, and loads of other stuff that she can’t really remember.

She loves her home country of Wales, especially the coast line around Anglesey where her family are from.

Pop in the shop and three days a week you’ll be able to ask Gabs about yachting in the caribbean, where to wild swim and much more.

She may even sell you something.
